Have you ever found a hidden treasure? Have you ever held an object so valuable that it was considered priceless?  Now is your chance!
Join us in sifting through archaeological-rich rubble from the Temple Mount. Learn from archaeologists and expert guides about the discoveries already made and take part in uncovering more of Jerusalem’s glorious past.  
  • The activity runs about two hours.
  • The sifting activity is geared to people of all ages and doesn’t involve physical exertion.

Essential Information 
Important Information:
One should register in advance through the Reservations Center or on our website. Space is limited. 
Parking available onsite, at 10 Hadassa Lampel Street, and at the Hebrew University parking lots . 
Find us on Waze at “Zurim Valley National Park”.
Public transportation that stops at the Hebrew University: 4, 19, 23, 26, 28. The 48 line has a stop on Hadassa Lampel Street.
One must descend numerous steps to reach the site. 
There is a snack shop onsite.
Guests are welcome to have a picnic at the site.
There is a sukkah at the site that visitors are welcome to use.
The sifting project overlooks a breathtaking view of Jerusalem and is located inside a National Park with a lot of greenery, along the path of the “Jerusalem Trail”.

Opening Hours 

Sunday-Tuesday, 18-20 Tishrei, October 8-10

The activity will run from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, ticket office closes at 3:00 PM.

Guided explanations in Hebrew at 09:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM

A guided tour in English will begin at 10:00 AM

On Friday, October 6 - 16 Tishrei, and October 13 - 23 Tishrei, Isru Chag

The park will be open from 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM, ticket office closes at 11:00 AM.

Guided explanations in Hebrew at 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM

A guided tour in English will begin at 10:00 AM

On Wednesday, October 4 - 14 Tishrei (eve of the first holiday), and on Wednesday, October 11 - 21 Tishrei (Hoshana Rabba) - the park will be closed.

Duration of the activity: Approximately an hour and a half.

This activity is suitable for the entire family and does not involve physical exertion!




Arrival Directions to the Emek Tzurim National Park


Public Transportation 
Buses: 4, 30, 19, 17, 68, 69,51,83 reach the Hebrew University at Mount Scopus, and then it is a 20 minute walk. You must walk down a long path with stairs, which is not accessible to baby strollers.
