Arrival Directions to the Emek Tzurim National Park

How will we reach the “Temple Mount Sifting Project” at the Emek Tzurim National Park?

From the entrance to Jerusalem via Highway 1:

Ascending toward Jerusalem, after you have passed Mevaseret Zion and the turn at Motza, exit at the interchange leading to Highway 9, according to the signs marked Ma’ale Adimim/Mount Scopus. Drive through the Arazim Tunnel, paying attention to the signs leading in the direction of the Giva’a Tzarfatit (French Hill). At the Giva’a Tzarfatit intersection, turn right, and when you reach the next intersection, near the Giva’a Tzarfatit bridge, where the new light rail train also passes, continue straight toward the Old City. At the next signal, turn left following the signs to Ma’ale Adumim and Mount Scopus. Now, continue straight two signals, and drive toward the Mount of Olives tunnel, which goes toward Ma’ale Adumim, and stay in the right lane (don’t enter the tunnel!). The right lane goes up to the Mount of Olives and Augusta Victoria. Drive in this lane and go up to the top of the Mount of Olives.

Option 1:

Before the end of the ascent, notice the signs toward Beit Orot and the Mormon University and turn right according to the brown tourism sign which says “Emek Zurim,” near the parking lot. You can park here and go down a pretty path by foot, directly to the Emek Zurim National Park (a 5-7 minute walk by foot). The path is not accessible for baby strollers.

Option 2:

Continue on the road upward and at the end of the ascent, turn right at the intersection. On your right, you will see the sign pointing to the entrance to the Abu Tor neighborhood. On your way southward, you will pass the Augusta Victoria Hospital (on your left). At the next intersection, descend sharply to the right toward the Old City (west). Drive slowly about 350 meters, until you notice a brown tourism sign turning right toward the Emek Zurim National Park on a narrow asphalt road between houses. This entrance leads to a tall, large hospital buildings that looks abandoned. Left of the building, there is a dirt path ascending directly into the large parking lot at the Emek Zurim National Park, where the “Archaeological Experience” is located.
Public Transportation and Navigation via GPS/ WAZE
You can only reach Emek Zurim by taxi or private vehicle.
Buses: 4, 30, 19, 17, 68, 69,51,83 reach the Hebrew University at Mount Scopus, and then it is a 20 minute walk. You must walk down a long path with stairs, which is not accessible to baby strollers.
