Hezekiah's Fortresses & Water Systems

Hezekiah's Fortresses & Water Systemsl
(II Kings 20 20)

The rest of the deeds of Hezekiah and all his might, and how he made the pool and the channel, bringing the water source in the city – behold, they are recorded in the Book of Chronicles of the Kings of Judah.

 (Isaiah 22 9-11)
You saw the breaches of the City of David were numerous, so you collected the water of the Lower Pool.  You counted the houses of Jerusalem, and you demolished the houses to reinforce the wall.  You made a water reservoir between the two walls, by the water of the Old Pool.  But you did not look towards the One Who made this happen, nor did you consider the One Who formed it in the distant past.

(II Chronicles 32 1-6)
After these events and show of faith, Sennacherib king of Assyria came.  He arrived in Judah and encamped against all the fortified cities of Judah, intending to breach them for himself.  When Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib had come and was headed for battle against Jerusalem, he conferred with his leader and warriors and decided to stop up the water of the springs that were outside the city, and they helped him – a great crowd assembled and stopped all the wells and the brook that flowed in the midst of the land, saying, “Why should the kings of Assyria come and find ample water?”  He also strengthened himself and rebuilt all the broken sections of the wall, raising it above the towers. [He erected] another wall outside of it, and he fortified the Millo, in the Coty of David.  He also prepared much weaponry and shields.  He appointed war officers over the people.  He gathered them to himself to the plaza at the city gate, and he spoke encouragingly to them saying.

(II Chronicles 32 30)
He, Hezekiah, stopped up the upper source of the water of Gihon, diverting them underground westward, to the City of David.  Hezekiah was successful in all his endeavors.
