How is a story born?

A New Performance: The Origins of the Written Word in the Book of All Books
Kings, prophets and poets put their words on paper, which were subsequently incorporated into the Book of all Books- the Bible. The Bible has served as a source of inspiration for writers across the globe, and throughout time.
During Hamshushalayim, we will connect the written word to the place where it all began- the City of David.
Street performers will engage in theatre, poetry and music, influenced by the Book of Psalms, the Song of Songs, and the Song of the Levites, which were all created in Jerusalem.
Together we will give new life to ancient and unique melodies, using ancient instruments that are becoming more and more popular among modern musical ensembles.
  • The events take place in the City of David National Park, adjacent to the Dung Gate of the Old City, which is near the Western Wall.
