Theatrical Tour – The Third Side of the Coin

The City of David, in conjunction with Makom Theater, presents: “The Third Side of the Coin” – a theater in motion at the City of David.
“We continue to roam with our time machine through the amusement park of Jerusalem. Spinning on the carousel, flying on the roller coaster of the city surrounded by hills, swinging on the swing between earthly Jerusalem and celestial Jerusalem. Trying to find a place to hold on…” (Yehuda Amichai)
A captivating, intelligent and very funny journey through the alleys of all times in Jerusalem, between past and future, between the upper and the lower, between holy and mundane, between secular and religious. A journey to the pilgrims, the falafel sellers, archaeologists, researchers and poets, an abundance of people and just one question:

Why Jerusalem?

Enchanted Jerusalem Tour

As evening descends, the ancient City of David is draped in tranquility and quiet. Soft artistic lighting caresses the antiquities, and at the King’s Garden, between the age-old olive trees, you’re invited to enjoy an aromatic coffee as the notes of the harp strum, or just relax and listen to the music.
The evening tours open with a captivating nighttime view of Jerusalem from the top of the Tzofeh overlook, illustrating the unique position of the biblical City of David at a lower elevation in relation to the Old City walls. An impressive 3D presentation depicts the city’s opulent past, and on the guided nighttime tour, highlighted by breathtaking lighting effects, showcases new and interesting artifacts from biblical times at the City of David. The tour continues on to the ancient “Royal Acropolis,” where a beautiful new sound and light show is projected on the antiquities, artistically telling the story of the City of David through movement and music.
