The Interrupted Search for King David’s Palace

In 2007, prominent Israeli archaeologist Eilat Mazar was excavating a monumental public building in Jerusalem’s City of David—a structure she believes might be King David’s palace—when one of the ancient stone towers at the site became in danger of collapsing. Believing it necessary to excavate the tower as soon as possible, Mazar halted work on the monumental building to focus attention on the tower. 

18 Latin American ambassadors and diplomats tour ancient Jerusalem

8 ambassadors and 10 consuls and attachés, all from various Latin American states, took part in a tour of the City of David.  The inititative for the tour came from MK Nava Boker (Likud), Deputy Chairperson of the Knesset and leader of the “Israel-Paraguay-Uruguay Friendship Group”, and from the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce, headed by Adv.

Yair Lapid Visits the City of David

Recently, Yair Lapid, Israeli Member of Knesset, Chairman of the Yesh Atid Party, and Israel's former Finance Minister, visited the City of David, seeing for himself some of the newest discoveries from ancient Jerusalem.
He was most moved from his visit to the Second Temple Pilgrimage Road, expressing he could imagine himself in the footsteps of his ancestors who walked along the very same road 2,000 years earlier. 
In the guest book he wrote: 'This place is proof that destruction is always temporary, and building is eternal.'

British actress, Helen Mirren, winner of the prestigious Oscar, Emmy and Tony awards, visited the City of David, site of ancient Jerusalem, accompanied by the Mayor of Jerusalem, Nir Barkat, and his wife, Beverly.

Eitan Asraf's visit to the City of David - Returning to where it all began.

In honor of Jerusalem Day, Eitan Asraf, the internationally renowned photographer, visited the City of David to capture ancient Jerusalem in a whole new light. The project was a joint initiative between Asraf, the City of David National Park, The Israel Antiquities Authority, and the Temple Mount Sifting Project. 
Archeological excavations in ancient Jerusalem have been ongoing since 1867, when Queen Victoria of England sent Charles Warren to Jerusalem in order to discover the treasures of the Bible.
