Gold Earring

A gold earring, inlaid with pearls and precious stones, was discovered in 2008 in the Givati Parking Lot Excavation, inside the momentous Roman building that was uncovered there. It is believed that the earring belonged to a woman of great means and was probably worn over a number of generations. The earring is thought to be from the Second Temple period, even though it was found in a building that was destroyed almost 300 years after the destruction of the Second Temple.
